Cloud Computing. WEAVEonline is an externally-hosted application.  No institutional IT resources are required to employ the WEAVEonline application.  WEAVEonline can be easily accessed at any location via a computer with a standard browser, such as IE or Firefox.

Secure. WEAVEonline is a geo-diverse hosted solution with world-class data storage, backup, and security.  WEAVEonline data centers are located in Tier 1 telecom carrier hotels, with perimeter security handled with badge and security check-in access utilizing proximity badge systems along-side fingerprint scanners to limit physical access. The entry process includes a mantrap and identity verification with logging.  The datacenter premises are monitored 24×7 by internal video systems, with the logs stored offsite.  The system is located in a SAS 70 Type II certified, PCI compliant data center.  World-class data backup, fire suppression, power backup and disaster recovery procedures are utilized.

Dependable. With uptime of 99.5% and triple redundant backups, our members never give a thought to the availability of WEAVEonline.

Scalable.  There is no limit to the number of users or entities that can be incorporated into WEAVEonline—at no additional cost.  An assessment or strategic plan should be a living, breathing document, with as many contributors as possible.  WEAVE wants to promote this collaboration, so we don’t increase the price of WEAVEonline with the number of users.  And a quick scan of our member list will confirm that institutions both very large and very small benefit from WEAVEonline.

Alternate Login Methods. WEAVEonline supports CAS v2 and v3 and LDAP v2 and v3.
